Aspia is where the best observational science and state-of-the-art deep learning transform Earth’s complex, dynamic data into accessible, scalable, and trusted land insights.

The Earth is a single, continuous, complex, and dynamic system, with activity occurring on all scales of space and time. This activity is revealed by observation: simply watch and learn. But different observations tell us different parts of the story. The full plot is revealed by combining observations, understanding how they are correlated, and interpreting their meaning. That meaning is then packaged in easily digestible units – our Aspia Land Tokens – a consistent, unified, “post-pixel” approach to land Intelligence.

We are adopting what we like to refer to as a post-pixel approach. Images are great, but they are not enough. Aspia Land Tokens (ALTs) represent a unified, consistent ledger that records the story of any given patch of land at a scale of the order 10 metres.

Each ALT is defined by a specific and immutable hexagonal spatial boundary and timestamp. Contained within each ALT is the data that defines the state of that land: not just the original observational data and directly measured values, but our inferences on the current classification and the properties of interest.

For example, a particular ALT might lie within a field of Winter Wheat. That ALT not only records a class label probability that associates confidence with a classification for the crop, but associated properties of interest such as predicted yield potential.

ALTs provide the granular raw material – Tokenized Land Intelligence – that is the basis of all of our products.

Our expertise spans observational astrophysics, remote sensing, computer and information science, and statistics. Our objective is to push data to its limits to:

Classify what is happening on the land right now, and across time.

Infer the properties of interest that are traced by the observations.

Forecast how those properties might change in the future.

Our work is driven by a simple goal: to reveal the “story” of any given patch of land: what is happening, and when? How do we do this?

One Model
We’ve built EarthPT, our “Large Observation” foundation model (LOM). EarthPT was the world’s first GPT-based foundation model for Earth Observation data. It models multimodal observational data in both the temporal and spatial dimensions.

Revealing Change
Instead of relying on static images, we deliver continuous insights. Our patented ClearSky deep learning algorithm removes the clouds, revealing consistent views of change over time.
